Japan faces food and power shortages after Tsunami

Most parts of Japan suffered major shortages including food following the devastating Tsunami that hit. This included large areas of the country that were not directly affected by the giant wave or by the nuclear power plant.

When disasters strike, one of the first things to suffer is the infrastructure of a country, and because most infrastructures work on the well-established “just in time” principal of supply and demand, even minor disruptions can cause shortages and breaks in the supply chain that can take weeks or months to re-establish.

Having your own food production garden will help to support you during such times.
