Balcony Garden

Last year I tried to grow a few tomatoes and cucumbers. I had no idea what I was doing. The crop was poor and pathetic. This year I started looking online for help with container gardening. I found this website and was thrilled with all the information. Thanks Ricks!

So, my balcony is long but fairly skinny. I keep 2 bikes, 2 chairs and a bbq on the one side and have dedicated the other side to start a patio garden. I haven’t planted yet as there is still rick of frost in the forcast for next week. I did spend a few hours today prepping all my pots and filling new ones and other things I found that could grow plants. So here is my small, but humble garden that will hopefully become bigger as I go.

Hi Glenda,
Thanks for sharing.
Looks like you’ve got the sun – which is always a bonus.
If you go to YouTube and type “balcony garden” in the search box, there are plenty of video’s offering tips, ideas and advice.

Best advice I can offer is remembering to feed your plants – not too much, but it makes all the difference between a good crop and a poor crop.

You got to start somewhere

You look like you will capture plenty of sunshine on your balcony, it might also be a great place to grow some hanging cherry tomatoes, just allow them to hang over the edges of your balcony and all that sun will have them bursting with flavour. Good luck…. JD
