Preparing For The Climbing Plants

Pots ready for vertical gardening

Well, It's been a fabulously sunny day and I have been out in the garden all day filling pots up with dirt ready for the climbing plants.

I managed to transplant the butternut squash seedlings as well as a large number of tomato plants into individual pots.
I was going to plant the runner bean seeds outside, but decided it was still a tad too early and the danger of frost has still not yet passed.

The telegraph cucumbers were also transplanted into their permanent place of residence inside the conservatory.

I'll be hardening off the tomatoes, runner beans that I grew indoors, and butternut squash plants over the course of the next week, where hopefully I can start training them up the climbing frame.

All in all a good productive day, although I'm almost out of compost now!

Time for a lettuce and rocket sandwich from the hydroponics :o)
