Pollination of Indoor-grown Tomatoes

by Kris
(Canada)

Hey Rick,

Excellent site, with well done materials. Concerning your hydroponic garden and the Tomatoes appearing to only grow during the regular season... Do the tomato flowers need to be manually pollinated in order to grow fruit? I read somewhere that this needs to be done if growing food indoors?

Hi Kris,
Many thanks for your great comments.
I think it all depends on how much access to bees and other pollinating insects your tomato, or any other indoor-grown plants have.

If there are no insects to do the pollinating for you, then you need to do it yourself.

Cheers
Rick
