More Pix and a tip

by Mick Colein
(Stratford on Avon UK)

Hi Rick
A few pictures of my 6 x 6 greenhouse in the spring with hanging baskets for added warmth until they are ready to go out side.
Plus a row of runner beans along the outside of the greenhouse with a few pots of herbs in between.

Just remembered another tip that you might like - Pea shoots.
Next time your at the supermarket look for a box of dried peas, loads of the little devils in a box for about 50p.
Fill a seed tray almost to the top with compost, then spread a thick layer of peas on the top, cover with compost.
Water well and keep in the warm, the windowsill is ok, in approx a week they will be up, in about 2/3 weeks they will be ready for cutting.
Lovely used as a salad, a sort of fresh pea taste is the best way I can describe it, apparently Marks and Spencers sell them for a £1 a bag.
Saw this tip on the telly last year and so simple to grow.

Great pea tip!
by: Rick from CGFF

Hi Mike,
Fabulous greenhouse photo's and a great tip for the peas. I think I watched the same program last year of the girl going self-sufficient in her Victorian garden. She's the one that gave me the idea for making the elderflower champagne this year!
Thanks again
Rick
