Helpful Hints for Upside-Down Gardening

I will also be upside down gardening for the first time this year. My garden gets a little more shade than I'd like for sun loving tomatoes since my small yard has a high fence, but my porch gets lots of rays.
I'm also going to experiment with a few other kinds of veges (cukes, for one) and in this article I read, they also suggest putting low-growing plants in the "bottom" of your upside down garden, so I'm hoping some basil will do well there, and possibly even mulch a bit to prevent some of that hyper dry-out I keep hearing is a problem with upside down gardening.
Here is a link I found very helpful; though I really will be looking forward to your experience with it.
